The Claddagh ring originates from an Irish fishing village of the same name and dates back to the 17th century. The Claddagh ring design is distinctive featuring two hands (symbolizing friendship) clasping a heart (symbolizing love) and often including a crown (symbolizing loyalty). The Claddagh is sometimes worn as a wedding ring.
